In the State historical Museum exhibition
"Treasures Of Prague Castle". It is a reciprocal event to the exhibition treasures of the Moscow Kremlin, which was held five years ago in Prague Castle.
Prague Castle is a symbol of Prague and the Czech Republic. In his millennial development reflects the history of the state from the earliest times to the present. The richness of the art collections, architecture and applied art, Prague Castle is one of the leading museums of the world. In addition, it is the center of ecclesiastical and secular power, which is annually visited by over 7.5 million tourists.
For the exhibition, the Czech Republic granted 130 items of fine and decorative art. These unique exhibits will introduce visitors to the rich history of Prague castle, illuminating all aspects of life: political, spiritual, administrative and social.
Diverse and unique in its artistic and historical value of the collection of the museums of Prague castle was more than ten centuries, and includes monuments of different directions and styles: Romanesque, Gothic, Baroque and other.
At the exhibition you will see the crown, scepter and Orb of Czech kings, their portrait sculptures, tympana of Roman basilicas, reliquaries of unusual shapes, jeweled boxes, furniture, dishes Meissen porcelain. Tapestry with the love story of Antony and Cleopatra, portrait of the Empress Maria Theresa and eleven children, two paintings by I. Aivazovsky and many other equally unique items.
